Matthew 4:4 – “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Just like coffee feeds my body, God’s Word feeds my soul

I love starting my day with two things: a home made coffee and the Bible—or, more often, the Bible app! Since my phone is already in my hand, it's usually scripture before social media.
Some mornings, I dive into scripture with excitement, ready to soak in the Word. Other days, I open it with hesitation—because, yes, I struggle to get myself motivated too!
There are moments when reading my Bible feels effortless, and others when I have to push myself to stay consistent. But I’ve realized that even on those reluctant days, the push-through is always worth it. More often than not, the scripture I read is exactly the encouragement I needed or the direction I was seeking.

My small coffee ritual is a way to help me center and prepare for the day ahead. I have a toddler who loves mornings—especially 6 AM mornings—so each day can either feel harder or easier than the last. This sacred time on my porch, with coffee in one hand and scripture in the other, is the best way to reset before the day unfolds.

I love the art of coffee-making, too. The perfect espresso shot, the swirl of milk turning into a smooth latte, the little designs I’ve learned to make—it’s a skill I’ve enjoyed improving over time. And trust me, it’s taken patience! Just like my faith, my coffee-making has evolved through practice and consistency.
One fuels my body, the other fuels my soul. ☕📖
No matter how tired, overwhelmed, or distracted I feel, taking time for both makes a difference.

This small ritual is a way to slow down, breathe, and be present before the chaos of the day begins. It’s a reminder that self-care doesn’t have to be extravagant—sometimes, it’s just sipping a warm cup of coffee while reading the Word.
Coffee wakes me up physically, but scripture grounds me spiritually.
Whether you’re a coffee lover like me or your morning ritual looks a little different, I hope this post encourages you to find small ways to start your day with intention! xo
